Director Gerard Vandervegt moved to India in 1994 and soon after started to explore ways to establish effective residential care for street children. In 1996 the GSH Trust was registered and Good Shepherd Homes opened doors on June 7th 1996 in Talegaon. He is presently involved in fundraising, communications and coordinating efforts in the Parandwadi construction. He resides in London.
